AI in pathology - From diagnostic to advanced applications

In my presentation I will share the experience of the Institute of Pathology (University Hospital Cologne) concerning development of clinical-grade AI tools for pathology diagnostics, especially in the domain of malignant tumors. I will touch the aspects of fast-track algorithm development and importance of large-scale clinical validation. Moreover, I will show how the diagnostic tools can be used as explainable tools for advanced applications such as patient prognosis and therapy response. I will also mention the importance of quality control in digital/computational pathology.
